Dangerous Zygos (DZ): Artist, Producer, Visionary
Born Vaughndell Seboris Brooks, Dangerous Zygos—better known as DZ—stepped into the world of hip-hop at 16, sparked by his cousin’s powerful lyrics and the magnetic pull of music. What began as a casual interest quickly evolved into a driving passion for storytelling through rhyme. With an unorthodox style and raw lyrical fire, DZ carved his own path, gaining early recognition from friends and family for his natural talent.
By 25, DZ’s hunger for creative control and self-sufficiency pushed him to master music production on his own terms. Armed with determination and a self-funded setup, he navigated software from Fruity Loops and Acid Pro to NUENDO, Cubase, and Sonar X3—emerging as a self-taught powerhouse: artist, producer, and engineer.
Rooted in a musically gifted family, DZ’s creativity expanded beyond sound. He immersed himself in graphic design, crafting album art, logos, and branding that reflect his unique artistic vision. This multidisciplinary approach led to the founding of DZ Productions LLC and Currency Development—platforms where DZ not only shapes his own work but also uplifts emerging local talent.
He’s collaborated with a roster of regional standouts including Prophecy Records LLC, Drank D, Keyz, Skeez, Dusty Dials, Itz Dul, Mic Nice, Jugga, Mike Milo, Jea Sinatra, and Jess Jones of the Get Money Stop Hatin Tour. DZ also serves as the lead engineer for The Paradigm Experience, a Columbus-based motivational talk show.
Now expanding his impact, DZ is a core member of M.A.F.I.A 614 (Made Already From Independent Activities 614) and The Blood of Nat Turner—two collectives devoted to creative excellence, cultural empowerment, and independent artistry. With every beat and every bar, DZ continues to craft a legacy defined by authenticity, resilience, and revolutionary spirit.
